Knapplhütte

The Knapplhütte is located at 1,500 meters above sea level in an absolutely snow-sure, sunny, dream location. It belongs to the AlmSkihütten and is one of the 15 ski huts on Hauser Kaibling.

The Höflehner family is probably one of the most well know and historically significant host families in the Schladming-Dachstein region. They have been spoiling their guests since 1957 - at that time with a small & simple, high quality cafe, & 10 guest rooms – a culinary treat offered with heart and soul. The first ski lift system of the Höflehner family, built in 1958, was the foundation stone for further development of the family business. Today, Gerhard Höflehner and his wife Katrin not only run the Knapplhütte, but also "Knappl's Bergschlössl", the Gumpenbar and the 4-star superior "Natur- und Wellnesshotel Höflehner".

One thing has not changed: As you enter, the delicious aroma of Kasnock'n and Kaiserschmarrn, accompanied by live music at the weekends ;-)

• Cheese soup with ham cubes, served in a bread bowl
• 'Försterpfand´l' pan dish with venison ragout, dumpling and cranberry-apple
• Homemade cheese-blueberry strudel - with local blueberries.
• Besides the classic 'ski-dishes', we serve venison from our deer park - prepared according to a traditional, approved recipe.
